Gala 2017

2017 Gala

“Tourette Syndrome, which attacks its victims by causing their own bodies to betray them with uncontrollable tics, erratic behavior and embarrassing vocal outbursts, will only be defeated by the loyal, predictable and steady actions of friends like you.” – Ken Moelis, 2017 Tourette Association of America Gala Honoree

Thank you to all of our incredible supporters who made the Tourette Association of America Celebration Gala on Monday, November 6th at Capitale in the Bowery, NYC a tremendous success!

In celebration of 45 years as an organization, the evening raised over $3.4 million in support of the Tourette Association of America and its mission to make life better for all people affected by Tourette and Tic Disorders.

Honored at the gala was investment banker Ken Moelis, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Moelis & Company. The night featured special guests Anthony Ervin, USA Olympic swimmer and four-time medalist, and Sheila Nevins, President of HBO Documentary Films and author of You Don’t Look Your Age and Other Fairy Tales, who, along with her son and TAA Board Member David Koch, read a passage reflecting on their experience with Tourette Syndrome from her book to guests.

“It was a fantastic evening celebrating 45 years of incredible work by the Tourette Association of America, which wouldn’t be possible without our many ambassadors, chapters, and supporters throughout the country,” said John Miller, President and CEO of Tourette Association of America. “We are extremely grateful to those who attended this year’s gala as we raised record funds to help those affected by Tourette and Tic Disorders.”

All proceeds from the Gala support the Tourette Association of America and its mission to make life better for all people affected by Tourette and Tic Disorders.
