2024 Teen Summit
Friday, May 31, 2024
9:00 am-2:00 pm CDT
Hilton Anatole Hotel, Dallas, TX
On Friday, May 31, the TAA will host its 2024 Teen Summit. This in-person event is an opportunity for teens ages 13-17 with Tourette Syndrome (TS), Tic Disorders, and co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, OCD, and anxiety to come together and listen to speakers provide insight and knowledge to our outstanding teens. The Teen Summit caters to the needs and interests specific to teens in the TS community. Topics we have covered in the past include living with OCD, resiliency and depression, disclosure, self-advocacy, driving with tics, and a crash course on executive function. Sessions are interactive and the Teen Summit lends itself to building meaningful connections with others.
To attend this exciting event, teens between the ages of 13 and 17 must submit an application. Applications are due Monday, April 15, 2024.
The Teen Summit event is available to all accepted applicants, free of charge. Teen Summit awardees will have the following expenses covered by the TAA:
- Hotel accommodations for the night of Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX for the teen and parent/adult guardian (additional nights are at the Teen’s and Parent/Adult Guardian’s personal expense).
- Airfare (up to $350 is reimbursable per ticket for the Teen and the Parent/Adult Guardian).
The Teen Summit is taking place in conjunction with the TAA’s Annual National Conference, TIC-CON, which takes place May 31-June 2, 2024 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX. Teen Summit attendees are encouraged to extend their stay and purchase tickets to participate in TIC-CON!
