Maximus Charney, Programs Coordinator, Southern California, leads statewide efforts to expand support, outreach, and education for individuals and families affected by TS.
With years of hands-on experience in advocacy and community engagement, Max has been a dedicated voice within the Tourette community. His work includes facilitating national peer support groups, helping to train the TAA Rising Leader class of 2025 in Washington, D.C., and advocating for greater awareness and inclusion at both the grassroots and national levels. He previously co-facilitated the TAA LGBTQ+ online support group and the Southern California Chapter support groups.
Max has also contributed to public speaking engagements, awareness campaigns, and diverse partnerships focused on reducing stigma and improving access to resources. His unique combination of lived experience and professional commitment allows him to build trust and connection within the communities he serves. Driven by a passion for making a meaningful impact, Max continues to foster empowering spaces where individuals can feel seen, supported, and heard.
