Remembering Judit Ungar, Former President of the Tourette Association of America

July 27, 2026 –  Judit Ungar, longtime President of the Tourette Syndrome Association, now the Tourette Association of America, passed on July 23, 2026, at the age of 79.

During her tenure, Judit played a pivotal role in advancing awareness and understanding of Tourette Syndrome, strengthening the organization’s work in education, advocacy, family support, and scientific research. Her leadership united families, physicians, researchers, and public officials around a shared goal: improving the lives of people with Tourette Syndrome and other Tic Disorders. She helped bring public recognition to a condition long misunderstood.

Beyond her achievements as an advocate and leader, Judit will be remembered for her warmth, determination, compassion, and commitment to helping others. Judit’s legacy endures through the organization and community she devoted so much of her life to serving.

Judit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives she touched.
