Description: We are proud to welcome K.E. Semmel who will share insights into the creation of his new AARP article (coming soon!) that highlights the real-life experiences of adults with diverse backgrounds living with Tourette Syndrome.

As part of the presentation, K.E. will also share his personal journey with TS—offering a deeper, more personal perspective to help frame the broader conversation around adult experiences, the importance of community, and the long-overdue recognition of this population. This narrative will serve as a meaningful springboard into the discussion. 

Attendees will gain a behind-the-scenes look at the process of capturing these authentic voices and will have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session with K.E.

K.E. Semmelhas translated more than a dozen books from Danish. His essays have been published inHuffPost,Lithub,The Millions,Electric Literature,Washington Post,The Writer’s Chronicle, and elsewhere.The Book of Losman(SFWP; 2024), his debut novel, is a speculative fiction about a literary translator in Copenhagen with Tourette who getsinvolved in an experimentalstudy tofind a cure.
