DescriptionJoin us for a three-part series of enriching art workshops designed especially for youth with Tourette Syndrome and other Tic Disorders. In these interactive sessions, participants will learn several coping strategies to address anxious or stressful feelings, develop the ability to regulate their breath and nervous system using simple drawing techniques for stress relief, and discover how engaging in creative activities can help manage difficult or challenging feelings. These workshops aim to empower youth by providing valuable tools to navigate emotions and enhance well-being through the power of art. Let’s create, breathe, and find calm together.

Margaret Carlock

EDD, ATR-BC, ATCS, Chroma Soul Arts

Dr. Margaret Carlock-Russo is a licensed, registered, and board-certified art therapist. She has over 27 years of experience as an educator and clinical art therapist. Margaret has worked extensively with individuals and groups, engaged in program development, graduate education, and is a certified art therapy supervisor. Margaret finds creative connection through spending time in natural surroundings and engages in her own artistic practice primarily through pottery, pastel drawing, and collage. She is also a clinical faculty member at Prescott College, coordinating and teaching in their Expressive Arts Therapy Post Master’s Certificate Program. Margaret actively engages in art therapy advocacy at the state and national levels and provides consultations, workshops, and presentations globally. Margaret is the immediate past president of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA).
