Gilles – The Tourette’s & Tic App

This presentation will provide an overview of a newly developed app – Gilles – the Tourette’s App for individuals with Tourette Syndrome and other Tic Disorders. The app is designed to help with self-management of tics, aid treatment work with a professional, help provide insight into factors that are contributing to tics and related symptoms, and provide clear evidence on the efficacy and benefits of different treatments.

It also includes a large knowledge base to help you better understand Tourette Syndrome and tics, what to expect, and why you may be experiencing the things you are.

Charles Galyon

Charles E. Galyon, Ph.D.

Charles E. Galyon (Ph.D., The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, 2013) is a Licensed Psychologist, researcher, and professional consultant on Tourette’s/Tic Disorders, Autism, and OCD. He is an active member of a statewide professional group out of Vanderbilt University Medical School for the Center of Excellence for Tourette’s Syndrome and previously served as co-chair of the OCD Training Committee for the Association of Contextual Behavioral Sciences. He has worked as a support group facilitator for the Tourette Association of America. His research work focuses on developing public and professional knowledge about Tourette’s/Tics in historically overlooked and minority populations to improve the ability of professionals to aid these populations and improve quality of life. He also has created a statewide community program for neurodiversity and an app, Gilles – the Tourette’s/Tics App, to help the Tourette Community.
