Audience: Parents and guardians of children with Tourette Syndrome or another Tic Disorder

Description: Join us for an interactive talk that blends science-backed nutrition with practical, everyday strategies to help parents and children feel more energized, supported, and empowered at the dinner table. 

Participants will:

  • Explore lifestyle habits that either fuel or cool inflammation – and learn why that matters for cognition and well-being.
  • Build personalized food strategies to boost energy, support nutritional health, and make mealtimes more nourishing and enjoyable. 
  • Apply USDA guidelines to bring more flavor, fiber, and anti-inflammatory benefits to each plate.

Diane Kraft

DCN, L/RDN
Diane Kraft, DCN, L/RDN is a Pennsylvania based licensed/registered dietitian nutritionist who recently completed her doctoral dissertation “Mediterranean diet consumption is a strong predictor of tic severity in children and adolescence with Tourette syndrome,” a cross-sectional analysis of diet and Yale global tic severity scale score. She has spoken on nutrition in schools from pre-K to grade 12, was formerly clinical research manager for Flintstone/Scooby Doo/Bugs Bunny vitamins, and is the author of the A-to-Z guide to food as medicine books, including the first edition, which was awarded an outstanding academic title award by the American Library Association in 2017.  She will be speaking to TAA about nutritional health and lifestyle practices that help cognition and well-being.
