Tourettiquette 101 Social Media Campaign

Tourettiquette 101

This Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month (May 15 – June 15), we’re enrolling the public in Tourettiquette 101. We’re taking them back to school and breaking down the basics of how to show up, speak up, and support people living with Tourette Syndrome and other Tic Disorders.

We’re asking our community to share the ways they want the public to treat them when meeting them for the first time. Let’s amplify these lessons on social media and make our voices heard – no textbook required!

Class is in session – get started using our instructions and example video below!

How to Participate

Participating is easy: Just record a short, informal video (less than one minute), post it to social media, and tag the TAA.

In the video:

  1. Let your audience know that they’re attending Tourettiquette 101, and share the ways you’d want the public to treat you and how to best address you when meeting you for the first time.
  2. Direct your audience to do their homework – let them know they can visit tourette.org/awareness to get involved, find resources and support, and help raise awareness.

Through these videos, we aim to educate the public, challenge misconceptions, build empathy, and increase awareness of the diverse and often misunderstood realities of living with TS or another Tic Disorder.
