Youth
Judy French
Judy French leads the Los Angeles office of the National Bullying Prevention Center, bringing PACER resources to schools, healthcare institutions, community organizations, and others through in-person and virtual presentations, workshops, and materials distribution in the Southern California area and nationally. She offers support and assistance to parents, students, educators, administrators, and community members who are impacted by bullying and are working to create healthier communities.
Laken Thompson, TAA Youth Ambassador
Laken is 14 years old, a freshman in high school, and an avid actor in theatre, tv and film. She’s an Instagram influencer and former pageant queen. She loves traveling, Dr. Pepper, and playing with her new puppy.
She’s also a TAA Youth Ambassador and advocates for others like herself. Laken has Tourette Syndrome along with social anxiety and depression. She was diagnosed with TS at age 9 during the pandemic after several years of minor vocal and motor tics as well as “behavioral issues” at school and being considered “extra” at school and among peers. While Laken thrives on stage and in front of a camera, she struggles with things like being in school classrooms and going shopping. She has experienced bullying from peers over the years and has learned how to speak up for herself and cope when situations occur. Laken hopes her experience and advice can encourage other teens in their journeys.
