Centers of Excellence are established medical programs, granted recognition by the Tourette Association of America, for offering the highest level of care and leadership in training, education, and advocacy. Through necessity and commitment, parents of special needs kids essentially end up creating their own Center of Excellence within their family and community, to ensure their kids, get the resources and the support they (and the entire family) needs. In this presentation, nationally recognized speakers Jane Indergaard and Jeremy Didier will guide parents of households with comorbid ADHD and TS in understanding the unique challenge of managing the amplifying effects of comorbid neurodiversity. They will share the best tools, targeted strategies, and parenting approaches to assist families to create their own evidence informed care team.
Presenter: Dr. Jane Indergaard
Dr. Jane Indeergaard is an associate professor of nursing at Concordia College, in Moorhead, MN, USA and a licensed registered nurse in ND and MN. Dr. Indergaard is a long-standing provider of education, advocacy and outreach for individuals living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She is the local co-founder of the award-winning Red River Valley CHADD, an affiliate of the national organization Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She is a frequent regional and national speaker on ADHD and was part of a nationally touring expert panel presenting on the Underdiagnosis of ADHD in Women. She has been involved in international global health initiatives and development for advancing nursing practice and behavioral health care outreach. Her current research and clinical interests focus on the impact of hormonal fluctuations on women with ADHD, and the design, application, and implementation of Psychoeducational (PE) programming into provider treatment for ADHD.
Presenter: Jeremy W. Didier
Jeremy W. Didier, LMSW, LMAC (she/her/hers) is a licensed clinician at the Jordan Psychological Center in Overland Park, KS and is an ICF certified ADHD coach with ImpactParents. Jeremy specializes in assessing and therapeutically treating adults who have ADHD. She is a nationally recognized speaker, a frequent contributor to respected online media outlets, and is a passionate advocate for adults with co-morbid ADHD & substance use disorder. Didier works as a mentor and provides support for justice-involved individuals as they prepare to return to traditional society. Jeremy also participates in a panel of professional women who provide insight and psychoeducation on the under-diagnosis of girls and women with ADHD at the local and state level. She is the group founder and co-coordinator of Kansas City’s award-winning CHADD chapter, ADHDKC; she also sits on the CHADD National Board of Directors. In her spare time, Jeremy is an unapologetic lover of all things Star Wars and Star Trek; her favorite accomplishment is being mom to five fabulous and neurodiverse kids.
