Overview:
In collaboration with the New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (NYSDDPC), The New York Yankees Foundation, and the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation, the Tourette Association of America (TAA) is offering online support group for youth & teens with Tourette Syndrome or other Tic Disorders who reside in the Bronx and greater NYC area.
The online support groups will be peer-led by young adults with Tourette Syndrome, who have been trained by a licensed clinical social worker. The licensed clinical social work will be in attendance for all the supports groups.
The aim of the groups will be to address the mental health and well-being of school-aged youth impacted by TS & co-occurring conditions, such as anxiety & depression.
Schedule:
The online support groups are FREE to join and will occur via Zoom. There will be 3 cohorts and all cohorts will meet on Fridays, 4:00-5:00pm EST.
- Cohort #1: October 6, October 13, October 20, October 27
- Cohort #2: November 3, November 10, November 17, November 24
- Cohort #3: December 1, December 8, December 15, December 22
